Throughout my years as a yoga student, I often found myself searching for a central place where all the wisdom I was uncovering could come together. I longed for one teacher who could weave the threads of philosophy, history, and practice into a language that I could apply to my modern, American life and easily understand.
The world of yoga is vast and layered — full of history, philosophy, and interpretations. Some of my earliest teachers would answer questions with the phrase 'yes, and…' — a gentle reminder that while one thought may be true, there is always depth, duality or conditions to consider. All things must flow. The Samkhya Model calls this conditional nature Satkaryavada. The Pali Canon calls this idaṃpratyayatā. This complexity can feel messy, but to me, it is profoundly beautiful.
Out of this desire to bring clarity and cohesion to the many topics often touched on in western yoga, I created Yes And Yoga. My intention is to offer a digital space where ancient practices meet modern life — a place for students to learn, reflect, and ask questions freely. Here, yoga is not just about the asana, but about understanding it and gaining the tools to apply it to life. - Lexi Stewart
